Even an RT needs some love every now and again ... two strands of wire on main throttle cable is what kept her riding! All four cables replaced while torn down.

After waiting for almost a week on parts - thanks to UPS screwing up the shipment/delivery - the RT is feeling much better and ready to RIDE.

This shack was held in our "southern location" @ Bobby's Garage.

I wanted to add - Check your alternator belt every 50 - 60K, the belt was pretty bad shape, torn and checkered. Torn pieces beating against the inside of the cover making big rukus.

Hmm... That got me thinking... Oh yeah, the LT doesn't have a belt. It's direct drive.

There has to be one in every group eh? :cheer: Something else to keep you thinking, what is the service life of the drive cog? :silly:

I would think that drive cog would out last the alternator. I really can't see it ever going bad unless the alternator seized up. But I'm sure stranger things have happened.

Special thanks to Don for all the work he performed on the RT
Even after telling him due to insurance regulations to GO AWAY he insisted on doing most of the repairs

We need to start having Shack Packs on a regular basis I'm sure most of our bikes could use a little TLC
Hope to see everyone ta breakfast Sunday
