I've only had my K1200LT for about 4 months and already need help diagnosing brake issues/failure. I have read that a GS-911 is the tool to have for figuring these things out. Does anybody in the Pittsburgh area have one that they would be willing to hook up to my bike and read the codes for me? I would appreciate any help so very much!

I have one. What year is your K12LT, where are you located and what's your phone number?

Thanks John. I have a 2002 and am located in Bethel Park. A member from another forum site offered his assistance and we hooked up the GS-911 yesterday. Oddly enough, we showed no faults. We tried several readings and got no fault codes. It seemed to be reading my bike but indicated no faults. Is it possible we did something incorrectly? What part of town are you in? Is there a way I could give you my number in a private message (rather than post it in a public forum)?

What type of brake issue are you having?

I am in Peters.

911 isn't needed for most brake issue on 02's.

If you have original brake lines, they should have been upgraded to braided steel lines 10 years ago.

Fast flashing ABS and Warning lights. Power assist goes out and only have residual breaking. System flushed by dealer 700 miles ago when new pads were put on. Installed new battery yesterday, no change. Any hints or "things to check" would be very much appreciated.

John -

I put the new battery in and nothing changed. If you're still up to it, I like to ride over and hook the bike up to see if you get any codes. give me a call when you have a minute...four one two, nine two six five three seven two. Thanks,
