TOPIC: How does this Forum thing work, anyway?

If you have not registered on this forum, you won't be able to log in or post because you don't have an account. Joining the Four Winds as a member does not automatically give you an account here; you have to register separately. You also do not have to be a member to register and post.

If you have gone through the registration process you will have picked out a username and password. If you don't remember doing so, you haven't registered. You will get an email in reply to your registration attempt; SAVE THAT and do what it says. If you furnished a fake email address, well, you're not going to be able to do that, right? It has to be a real email address.

After you click the confirmation link in the email that you receive in response to your registration, there is one more step to foil the dreaded spam monsters. Your account needs to be approved by a moderator, which will hopefully happen soon!

If you are having a problem, it is almost certain that you either never registered (this is actually very common), you have not followed through with the confirmation, or you are still in the moderation queue to be added to the forum.

Once you have registered, additional grey menu tabs will appear across the top. There is a wonderful tab named "HELP" which explains just about everything.
