Love the cool fighter theme, Don. Growing up in the country playing in barns with Amish kids - - I had to Google GO4. Ahhh,, the only meter maids I've seen were on foot.
Found this:
"Odd Three Wheelers Through History"
Speaking of 3-wheelers, Tim and I finally got to test ride a friend's new Can Am Spyder yesterday.
Pros: Won't tip over, don't have to reach the ground = wouldn't have to wear as much heavy hot protective gear! Full fairing and windshield - I can't ride anything big enough to achieve that luxury any other way. Plush comfy seats. Tons of storage (full dresser).
Cons: Behaves more like a 4 wheeler quad than a bike. Doesn't lean. All 3 wheels transfer every bump to the machine and you can't straddle or avoid them, though suspension and absorbs fairly well. Steering so quick almost feels twitchy.
Thanks Diane, it's one of those that I would have loved to keep to play with but never enough room for everything ... Half the fun for me was getting it road worthy - never enough time to ride them all or keep track of maint too!
The Spyder is pretty cool and I agree with all your assessments. BRP has done a fine job and they continue to make it better since the initial release so they are moving in the right direction. My biggest complaint with the Spyder is they have so much electronics built in that control too much of the ride ... for me that takes some fun out of it (almost too predictable). I have a very good friend that is a high mucky muk with BRP, in fact he played a huge part in the design of the brand new model ... the F3 Roadster. He comes from a mostly cruiser background and you see that in the design!
