Next Sunday, October 23rd, John Humphrey will lead a “President’s Ride” to Seven Springs mountain ski resort in the Laurel Highlands.
We will depart from King’s Family Restaurant, Northtowne Square on Rt. 8, Gibsonia at 10 AM. The ride will begin on route 910, pass by Deer Lakes Park, cross the river at Tarentum, travel by Saltsburg and Keystone State Park to Latrobe, past Ligonier Country Club to Champion and Seven Springs. The route will avoid congested areas and we will ride some beautiful, open, twisty roads. We used to live at Hidden Valley and know the roads up there. See the attached GPS route.
Depending on the group size, the ride is 2 hrs each way and we will arrive around noon at Seven Springs "Sporting Clays Grill" for lunch. This is the trap shooting club at the top of Seven Springs.
It's Seven Springs' Autumfest season and the colors of the leaves should be beautiful by then. The weather forecast looks good next weekend, with the high near 60. It will be cool, so dress warm to start the ride.
You can return with the group back to to King's or travel home by any route you choose.
