Got a call from Ed yesterday and planned a meeting for lunch today, awesome burgers but not like 2Sparks place!!!

After eating some great burgers we took a short ride down Daytona's loop ride ... not to rub it in but it was high 80's today and all sun!!! We stopped at the BMW dealer so I could check on service for the 1200, my fuel strip failed for the 5th time!! Huel the service manager (very nice guy) made time at the end of a swamped day to get the new fuel strip installed! After BMW we decided to get a coffee at Dunkin Donuts where we got to talk some more before we went our own ways ... me and Kim north and Ed south.

Thanks for the call Ed and for you patience
waiting at the BMW dealer! Safe travels home!!

Nice pictures, Don! ...And it looks like on some bikes BMW STILL hasn't got the fuel strips right. I replaced 4 of the things on the K1200GT in the few years I had it, that were eaten by the damn alcohol in the gasoline the lousy corn conglomerate foisted on us by buying our 'gummint's' corrupt congress*. Fortunately BMW seems to have gotten things fixed on the C600 Scooters, and, of course, the 1989 R100RT's old petcock technology works fine. There's something to be said for some of that ancient technological stuff! B)

Soak up the sun for us -- it's a balmy 25 degrees in New Castle this morning! Glad yinz 4 Windzers were close enough to get together and thanks for sharing the picts.

Hi Ralph! It was good to see Ed, wish we had more time then we did. Ah ... that dang fuel strip. The new fuel strip has failed once again, I am fit to be tied at this point. I believe you are correct, the ethanol wrecks havoc on fuel systems for sure. I called BMW Customer Service to voice my displeasure ... won't help except make me feel a little better!! So within the next couple days my 2010 will be on it's SIXTH fuel strip. Any wagers how long this one will last or maybe if it will last past a week??

Diane - Soaking up all the sun we can get before we have to head back north. 25 degrees brrrrrr, maybe we should try and stay south a little longer!! :)

Geez. What's curious is that so far the C650GT Scooter's fuel gauge hasn't yet bombed out. Either the strips they use in them are different, or maybe they went back to the tried and true float method. You'd think by now BMW would have gotten those fuel strips figured out. Maybe not enough people have yelled bloody murder at them. I only quit having trouble with them when I got rid of the K1200GT!
