Lee will be missed! He certainly was a good guy. ...I can't fault Becky (the new SM) as she at least was nice to me when I had to reschedule an appointment due to the dang vertigo. But unless she's been to a motorcycle tech academy, or the BMW tech training, I doubt if she can do the stuff on bikes Lee could to jump in when the other guys were swamped. ...Time will tell.

Ralph -

I'm glad you didn't have any problems with Rebecca aka Becky. You bring up exactly my point, she maybe nice (wouldn't know with my dealings with her) BUT it's difficult to deal with a service manager that has no understanding of what a customer is asking/talking about. I can't imagine turning a wrench for a manager that has no understanding of my job! A qualified person would at minimum have some understanding and a manager is supposed to "listen" and find solutions ... Not talk over a customer! I do plan to stop the shop and see Lee M when I return to PA.

Don

PS
Hope your vertigo is under control for you!

You're bang on on that one, Don! Hard to figure how a shop manager can manage much of anything if they haven't a clue what goes on in a shop... Kinda like appointing an admiral who's never seen a ship! Ungood.

That's how BMW car service shops operate. The service advisor is basically a PR type person who has limited knowledge of the actual work being done. Hopefully that is not the case here.

I was glad to find an independent BMW mechanic to work on my almost 17 year old car. It helps that he's a motorcycle guy and owns a R90S, an LT and a Ducati !

Sounds like you found a real winner, Jay. And like Beemers, Bimmers too seem to just go on and on and on...like the Everready Rabbit! Luv Em! :)

BTW, Who/where is the Beemer/Bimmer Mech? Best Tech at European I think is John Rupert. I'm really glad he's back. He's good, and he's meticulous IMHO. There was also a good guy, whose last name was Love, and I think he lives over here somewhere South off Rte 8...he used to be over European when the place first opened, but I haven't seen him in years, and have no idea where he is specifically located, but guys tell me he's really great too. And of course, there's Craig Immel, but I don't think he's working on Beemers any more. Last I heard he was at a car dealership, but I won't swear to that.

Ralph,
My friend unfortunately works on Bimmers exclusively (apart from his own Beemers I suppose). He has shop in Lawrenceville.

Great analogy Ralph :cheer: I also agree Rupert is a great guy/mechanic especially for the older model bikes ... the new stuff requires interface with onboard electronics that make it "new school". Very happy I have a GS911 or I wouldn't be able to do most of the work on my own bike(s)!!!!

Jay - It's always a good thing to have somebody in the wings that can help you out instead of relying on ????? a crap shoot weather the work is/was accomplished or NOT in many cases.
