TOPIC: How ABS Brakes Work

HOW ABS WORKS: From Kevin Hart, who is on top of all the latest technical stuff, sent this over for those of us who keep seeing all that stuff about ABS (Anti-Lock-Brakes and Braking Systems) and wondering how the heck the stuff works. Well here’s how. The dog on the left has the ABS. Note how s/he never loses traction, but keeps pulsing the brakes, while the dog on the right without ABS simply locks up and skids, the latter occurrence, on a motorcycle leading to loss of control. Next time a buddy wonders how ABS works, show ‘em this!

I think this needs to be added to the safety area of the website.

That’s a great example, however the pup on the right with ABS looks to be overloaded, and sadly they appear destined to the same fate ! An unwanted crash into the cold waters .
Should have made an evasive hard left sooner.

For 43 years I had to venture into the weather, retired and by the wood stove. Be safe out there.

I agree, better judgement would have avoided the water hazard completely! Guess that's why I'm going to brave the weather and head to the meeting to make a presentation on why and how one becomes a motorcycle safety instructor Go figure. Enjoy the wood stove.
