They didn't used to, but for quite a few years now the club has been subsidizing $10 or more for everyone, paying hundreds, to try to keep the cost down for people and still have a very nice event in beautiful venues. This year the club decided as a membership benefit, they will again gift $10 toward the dinner price for members only. Non-members will pay the actual amount we are charged by the restaurant. Anyone whose dues were paid in 2015 counts, even if they've not yet renewed for 2016. For some (like me), it's easier to do it all in one fell swoop though while I'm thinking about it. Dues are due by the Feb. meeting anyways according to the bylaws, so essentially after the banquet subsidy, full dues are only $10 for the year and Assoc. members end up free! Ya' can't beat that with a stick!  SPECIAL HONORED BANQUET GUESTS Several of us went Dennis and Donna Mickinnan's house to meet some of the old-time members and learn more about 4 Winds history. We're trying to get an article written for the MOA magazine before the rally. Marlene and Wayne (Rainmaker) Heilman, Dean Auckerman, and Paul Richardson brought lots of old newsletters, MOA magazines, patches, articles and things they donated to the club archives. Rumor has it they're all into coming to the banquet along with Phil Caldwell (wife of the late Moe Caldwell). Maybe even Craig Immel and Bob Thomas (the very first Pgh. BMW dealer) will make an appearance! |
