Thanks for posting this John.
Both 8 & 910 are close to me. While I try to avoid 8 for the very reasons listed, sometimes you just have to take it.
The 910 reasons are interesting - may apply to many roads Thst we seek out.

Thanks for the great heads-up on the dangerous roads article! Good one!

8 south of 910 is definitely a pain, lots of stop lights, commercial establishments, and dimwit cagers running off at the mouth on their cell phones and paying little attention to the road. Better ways 'up or down 8' are the back roads on either side that run in the same north-south direction, with little traffic and generally only stop signs, and those, much fewer than the stoplights on 8. Middle Road East of 8 and Mt. Royal Blvd west of it are both more fun to ride, though slower and with many more curves some pretty sharp.

I'll vouch for ALL of them + the parkway east! Oh, and let's not forget RT 30 and RT 22 where most recently I had an unmarked state trooper come halfway into my lane while I was on the GS, no less. And yes, it was a state trooper because I made an effort to get behind him and then pass him and took a good look, shaking my head. He just wasn't paying attention and wanted to make a right turn at the next light. And no, he didn't look at me to make any sign of apology. Got his license plate and thought about reporting him but what difference would it have made. Hopefully, realizing what he did will make more of a difference especially when I think he may have even realized that I was a woman in full riding gear. ATGATT. Was run completely off Rt 30 onto the berm by a woman in an SUV on a cell phone a while back while on the GS. And on RT 22 a woman intentionally came into my lane at a red light yelling GET OFF THE ROAD while I was on the 250 Vespa. Ugh.

Like they say, Holly, "There are lots of stupids out there, and the trouble is, they reproduce themselves." Blechhhh! Too bad the dimwits in the legislature didn't pass that law making blathering on a hand-held cell phone while driving a ticketable offense.
