During breakfast meeting Walt was telling us about a trip he took to the Motorcycle Memorial in Hopedale, OH. Motorcycle Memorial

I looked it up and I am going to take a ride out there this Thursday 5 Sept 2013. It's just a short ride, I plan to take all small, scenic roads

MAP

I thought maybe grab breakfast around 9 - 10 (Hot Dog Shop in Beaver or Chippewa) then hit the road for the Memorial. If your interested, let me know ...

What an awesome day to be on the bike!!

Met with Dan (Scooter Rudert), had a good breakfast and conversation at Hot Dog Shop then proceeded on our way via backroads to visit the Motorcycle Memorial. The weather was PERFECT and the roads were a mix of mild twisties and long sweepers ... oh what a day to ride! Almost to the Memorial, Dan asked if I would like to see a "surprise" site that was nearby ... my answer was OF COURSE so Dan took the lead and I followed. A short time later running some very nice country road we pull into a gravel area and park. We were in New Rumley, OH - birthplace to George Armstrong Custer! I had no idea ... it was a very cool memorial (museum next door but we did not visit this time) and important part in our history!

After reading all the plaques and info we headed back to our original destination ... the Motorcycle Memorial.

I had a great time and made a new friend ... THANKS DAN!! Already looking forward to next time :woohoo:
